Introduction
It was our pleasure to welcome all the attendees the 10th annual meeting for Scandinavian Society for Biomaterials (ScSB) "Underlying Challenges in Biomaterials" at Hafjell form March 15-17, 2017.
ScSB aims for promotion of young Biomaterials scientists active in member states at national and international levels. The organization is still young and under rapid development. The main focus of our activities are centred on organizing an annual Biomaterials meeting in Scandinavian, Nordic and Baltic states, and thereby promoting cross-fertilization of Biomaterials research in these regions. In addition to academic researchers, ScSB regards students and industry as very important members of the society.
The scientific programme for ScSB 2017 was to address the underlying challenges faced by the field of biomaterials and tissue engineering and focused on digging into some of the fundamental questions in biomaterial science. We did of course not forget the importance of networking and socialising with our fellow Nordic and international scientist in a relaxed setting. One of the main aims of this meeting was to create an environment for students and young investigators to interact with more experienced scientist and to create a better dialogue between them. We hope you enjoyed our combination of excellent science, excellent networking and excellent skiing.
