TCES2008 at Nottingham
The Tissue and Cell Engineering Society (TCES) celebrated its 10th anniversary in 2008. Over the previous 10 years, the Society has provided a forum for UK research groups to share research ideas and has contributed to the development of a strong and friendly field in all aspects of cell and tissue engineering. In 2008, TCES was joined by Remedi, an EPSRC Innovative Manufacturing Grand Challenge Project, and the EPSRC funded network, ANGIONET which sponsored a session with a focus on angiogenesis in tissue engineering. The final afternoon included a post-symposium technical workshop, co-sponsored by the Royal Microscopy Society, which was aimed at postgraduate and postdoctoral researchers to address imaging in tissue engineering.
The Tissue Engineering Group at Nottingham was delighted to welcome the TCES2008 annual society conference this year which was held in our new home within the University’s flagship research hub, the Centre for Biomolecular Sciences. I hope that everyone who attended enjoyed the conference and stay here in Nottingham; enjoy reading the abstracts that were presented at the main conference this year.
