The Biointerfaces International Conference took place August 23-25, 2016, University of Zurich, Switzerland, jointly organized by the Swiss National Thematic Network (NTN) “Innovative Surfaces”, NTN “Swiss Biotech”, Empa, ETH Zurich and University of Zurich.
Biological surfaces and interfaces concern the field where synthetic materials and biological systems interact with each other - a topic that constitutes one of the most innovative and expanding fields in science and technology for optimization of the clinical outcome.
The conference covered multi-disciplinary science & technology talks designed to connect world-leading scientists and engineers from academia, industry & clinics, early-career researchers & students, regulatory bodies and entrepreneurs:
- Scientific 3-day program covered talks by internationally renowned Invited Speakers and contributed talks on the most recent discoveries and exiting technologies in this highly transdisciplinary field.
- A “Science to Market” session with short presentations by researchers close to novel, disruptive technologies, start-ups and corporate ventures. (no abstracts available)
- A “Science to Clinics” Session with presentations by and discussion with clinicians on “Crossing Borders – Building Bridges” (no abstracts available)
